Please note that the couriers we use do not deliver at weekends or bank holidays. All sizes are approximate industry standard'cut sizes' of material before being made into a tarpaulin. Therefore expect the'finished size' to be up to 9 (22cm) shorter on both sides to allow for hems and seams in the finishing process. This is the original tan coloured wax treated Heavy Duty Cotton Canvas Tarpaulin - approx. 540grams per square meter approx. 18oz Sq Yd, made from rot and water resistant cotton duck. Wax processed for weather resistant protection.

Rust resistant eyelet's (with 11mm inner diameter) in each corner and at 2ft intervals along all 4 sides in the stitched hems. With 4ft (1.2m) dimension canvas tarps the eyelet's may be sited at the corners only.

All images are for indicative purposes only and we cannot guarantee continuity of colour or shades of colour. We cannot offer any guarantee to life expectancy for this type of product as this will vary greatly depending on what they are used for and prevailing weather conditions. Please note that all coloured canvas tarpaulins are wax-proofed and dyed so there is a possibility of colour transference upon application - please ensure you take caution to eliminate any risk of staining on your person, clothing or objects to be covered.

Canvas tarps will need re-proofing after a period of usage. How to look after and increase the longevity of your new tarp. When covering with a tarp ensure the tarp it is well supported - the larger the tarp the more support it requires - do not hang a tarp by just its eyelets, as the eyelets could be pulled out and the tarp may rip at the edges as it may become stressed under its own weight. Use bungee cord rather than rope to tie down the tarp as this reduce the possibility of overtightening and also provides more give when there ae string winds.

Apply the tarp in such a way that water will run off when raining. Do no lay it flat to allow water to pool on top of it as the water will possibly seep through the canvas. If the tarpaulin is to be stored, ensure it is bone-dry; otherwise mould can grow very quickly.

Remove any bird droppings or dirt before storing, to prevent any inherent acidity affecting the canvas. It may also be prudent to use rodent baits in areas where canvas is stored, to prevent pests from damaging the sheet. Avoid storing canvas on concrete; concrete can encourage mould growth, have an acidic effect on canvas and also lead to insect infestation. Do not use detergents to clean the canvas; these will break down and remove the waterproofing agent the tarp has been treated with. Do not use warm or hot water, or water under pressure; again these will prematurely remove the waterproofing treatment.

Avoid using hard brushes to clean the sheet, as these are abrasive to the canvas. Where possible use a very soft-haired brush or broom to prevent damage to the material.

Canvas can shrink by up to 5%, and so we recommend'weathering' the canvas before first use to avoid shrinkage once the tarp may have been fitted but also to stop the stitch-holes leaking. Our canvas tarpaulins are wax-treated to make them water-resistant; however, after prolonged exposure to water, these sheets will require reproofing. You may begin to notice that wet patches remain on the canvas after rain, the underside of the canvas gets wet, or the tarpaulin begins to feel dry and dusty; these are all indications that re-proofing may be required.
